A newly-wed couple from Agra was found lying dead in the bathroom of their home on Thursday evening, police said.
Newly-wed Puneet Gupta, 26 and Varsha, 25 of Kunwar Colony had returned after playing Holi at the bride's home and were in the bathroom cleaning up the colours.
When the two did not come out after more than one and a half hours, family members got suspicious. They called neighbours and the police when the couple did not open the bathroom door.
The two were taken in an unconscious state to a nearby nursing home, where doctors declared them brought dead.
The two were cremated Friday morning.
The cause of the death is not clear and the primary post-mortem examination report too has failed in yielding a reason for the death.
The New Agra thana police are investigating the deaths.
