Gonda: Woman set on fire for resisting rape

Lucknow:  A 22-year-old woman in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, was burned after she resisted a rape attempt on Saturday.
As per her account, her child had gone to a nearby shop when an unknown man entered her house and started harassing her. When he moved to close the door, she ran out of the house. She returned after some time, believing that the man had left. As she was feeding her child, the man came from behind, poured kerosene over her and set her on fire. She said the man was attempting to rape her.
The woman had been hospitalised with serious burn injuries. A report has been registered by the police.
