Saif plans 3D Agent Vinod sequel

By Hindustan Times

Actor-producer Saif Ali Khan, who is eagerly awaiting audience reactions to Agent Vinod, says he might plan a sequel to the spy thriller, and that too in 3D.

"I don't understand 3D and don't enjoy it, but my son does. So, maybe for the larger portion of audiences, one should consider it for sequel," Saif told reporters.

"I didn't consider going for it this time. There was some talk earlier though. If it becomes a big action movie, then it is a good idea to shoot it in 3D," he added.

Agent Vinod is directed by Sriram Raghavan, and also features Saif's real life lady love Kareena Kapoor.

Saif says if at all a sequel takes shape, the character of Vinod will be staple.

"It will be the same Vinod with another cast for the sequels if at all it comes. It is too early to discuss right now," the 41-year-old said.

Agent Vinod hit screens Friday.

Imran Khan to turn baddie for OUATIM sequel

By Hindustan Times
Bollywood actor Imran Khan, known for his chocolate boy looks, will turn baddie for the sequel of the 2010 film Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai. He will play a don in parallel lead with Akshay Kumar. The movie was to feature Shahid Kapoor earlier but now Imran has been finalised for it.
"Talks were on with Shahid but we have decided on Imran now. Imran loved the script, and we are very gung-ho about this project. The audience will get to see a different Imran," Girish Johar, head of acquisition and distribution, Balaji Motion Pictures, told IANS.
In the film, Akshay will be seen as underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, and Imran will play his rival Aslam.
The project will be directed by Milan Luthria, who is basking in the success of The Dirty Picture.
The prequel - Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai - had Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi together on screen. Their mentor-turned-rival chemistry as Sultan Mirza and Shoaib, respectively, was appreciated.
Producers are hoping that the Akshay-Imran pairing works wonders for the sequel too.

Shah Rukh Khan game for RA.One sequel

By Hindustan Times
Shah Rukh Khan is overjoyed that his ‘baby’, RA.One, has bagged a National Award for special effects. Even before the movie released last Diwali, speculation about a sequel was rife and SRK in an earlier interview didn’t deny that he’d like to take the idea forward, even though not many critics thought the film should have been made the way it was.
“I’ve invested a lot of time into making this film and have created a technology over nine years. I think it needs to be exploited a little more,” he reasoned.
The next film, the star-producer pointed out, would however not be called RA.Two as the buzz went, but G.One because the formality of introducing a superhero genre is over and done with. Now, if RA.One were to move ahead, it would be with G.One, Shah Rukh’s own character, as kids all over the country have been making him sign autographs as G.One since the film released last Diwali.
Insisted Shah Rukh, “If Anubhav (Anubhav Sinha, writer-director of RA.One), anyone else in the company (Red Chillies Entertainment) or even someone from outside comes up with a story idea that can take the thought beyond, I’m game for it. My friends may also send me some scripts.”
Don 2 took six years to come along, will G.One arrive sooner? Shah argued that Don was never envisaged as a franchise and even Hrithik’s superhero sequel, currently being shot, flagged off six years after Krrish (2006).
“If I had a script today, which I don’t, it would take me at least 15 months to redraft it and finalise the cast and crew. A film like this requires a year-and-a-half of pre-production, so it’s impossible for me to give you a time frame. I’m unsure if it’ll even get made or if I’ll use the technology in some other genre,” said Shah Rukh, admitting that despite the fact that he has nothing now, he would still like to make a sequel since he hasn’t explored everything in the genre. “I know it is going to be expensive, but perhaps the next film would be cheaper since I now have the technology. Bigger and better too, I hope. But I have to have a story idea first.”

Amitabh-starrer Aankhen sequel to go on floors

By Hindustan Times

Producer Gaurang Doshi is all set to churn out a sequel to his hit heist film Aankhen, with only megastar Amitabh Bachchan being retained from the original cast.

The 2002 film directed by Vipul Shah, starred Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal and Sushmita Sen in lead roles. It was about a bank robbery by three blind men.

"We have been working on this idea of a sequel since quite some time. The first part of the film had two endings --one for the Indian market and the other for the overseas audience. The three protagonists in the film would remain blind," Gaurang told PTI.

The second installment will be helmed by a new director as Gaurang had a massive fall-out with director Vipul Shah during the making of Aankhen.

Also, there were reports that Akshay and Gaurang had a huge showdown due to monetary issues. Besides, a romantic song between Arjun and Sushmita was edited out. So the two were unhappy about it.

Talking about the fresh star cast, Gaurang said, "There will be a new cast except for Amitabh Bachchan. We are on the verge of finalising things and would make an announcement soon."

The sequel will be shot in India, Canada and England. The film would go on floors this year and is expected to release next year.
