Kohli follows up his 183 with a movie and a spa session

New Delhi: What does a centurion do after a mammoth knock of 183 against arch-rivals Pakistan? India's Virat Kohli on Monday, chose to unwind with a movie and a session at the spa.

The hero from Sunday's Asia Cup match tweeted his activity a day after leading his team to a sensational win against Pakistan, chasing 330 for a win. "what a game it was for the team. good win for us. had a good spa day and a great time watching movies with team mates," he wrote on the micro-blogging site.

While his name has been trending on Twitter and congratulatory messages have been pouring in from politicians (Rajya Sabha members congratulate) to Bollywood celebrities (Pics: Bollywood, Yuvraj wish Kohli), a relaxed Kohli spent Monday re-energising himself after batting for close to four hours at Mirpur. With a place in the final almost assured, he and his teammates will however, keep an eye out for the match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. If Sri Lanka win, Kohli may well get a chance to stage an encore against  Pakistan in the final on Thursday.

No distributor for Shilpa Shetty’s movie

By Hindustan Times

Actor Shilpa Shetty’s The Desire: The Journey of A Woman, which has been ready since 2009, doesn’t have a distributor to take it to the cinema halls. Producer Sunanda Shetty can’t find takers for her daughter’s last project, despite great efforts to market the film.

The Indo-Chinese venture was left half done by its original producer. However, after Sunanda stepped in as a producer and completed the project, it bagged the Best Feature Award at The Geneva Film Festival last year.

“I’m looking for distributors. The film can’t have a theatrical release in India till I find one. I hope I find someone soon,” sighs Sunanda.

The Desire: The Journey Of A Woman revolves around a girl’s search for spiritualism through dance. Shilpa, who plays an Odissi dancer in the movie, has even posed as a bald monk in a portion of the film. Chinese actor Yu Xia also has a leading role, playing a painter. Anupam Kher and Jayaprada have pivotal roles too.

Sunanda, who was attending FICCI Frames 2012 now on in the city, admits she was there to interact with producers and distributors from across the world.

Without stating whether she’s finally found a distributor or not, she says, “It’s a wonderful platform for everyone. There are people here from all fraternities including the top-of-the-line names from various film industries. Needs meet needs here and I’m hoping to get what I’m looking for.”

RGV's 26/11 movie goes on floors

By Hindustan Times

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma's most ambitious film on 26/11 Mumbai attacks finally goes on floors Friday and it will be shot in four different languages - Hindi, Marathi, English and Urdu. "Today is the 1st day of shooting of the most important film of my career The attacks of 26/11. That's
because it is on the most important event that ever happened... If not in scale and damage and tragedy, just in sheer complexity it beats even 9/11," Varma wrote on his Twitter page.

"It's being done with a completely new cast and is going to be shot in languages in which the actual people spoke that is Urdu, Hindi, English and Marathi," he added.

The film, being made at a budget of Rs.40 crore, will bring forth every aspect of the dreadful attacks that killed 166 people.

"The attacks of 26/11 will detail every aspect of the carnage beginning with the terrorists taking over Amar Solanki's trawler Kuber I want to thank all the officers who have given me unimaginable inputs and insights into this event which is making this film possible.

"The film is primarily meant for an international release and is being made at a budget of around Rs.40 crore," he posted.

Varma has roped in a theatre actor Sanjeev Jaiswal to play the role of Kasab, one of the prime accused of the attacks.

"The most important actor obviously is the guy who's going to play Kasab the reason being he becoming the face of the 26/11 attacks. I needed someone similar and also a great actor to be able to portray the complexities involved and I found him in a theatre actor called Sanjeev Jaiswal," he added.

R3.5 lakh hung off movie hoarding!

By Hindustan Times

Mumbai, Feb. 29 -- If you were walking around Juhu yesterday, you might have realised that money doesn't grow on trees it hangs off billboards. To promote their upcoming release Paan Singh Tomar, production house UTV Motion Pictures risked losing R3.5 lakh in cash, which they strung up on a prominent hoarding opposite a Juhu coffee shop.

Confirming the news, Shikha Kapur, senior vicepresident of UTV Motion Pictures, says, "As Irrfan plays a robber in the film, we e film, we hought it would be a nice innoation in the outdoor advertising space. We are pegging it (the cash bounty) as Paan Singh's loot. "

The production house claims to have made the required arrangements to protect their stash, which was hoisted onto the poster opposite popular haunt Costa Coffee around noon. Shikha says, "In terms of security, there were people posted around the hoarding, though they were dressed in casual clothing."

The experiment only lasted for a brief spell, since the filmmakers didn't want the pile of cash to attract any unwanted trouble. "We only put it up for a couple of hours, and took it down by 3 pm. We are aware that we can't keep the money up there until the film releases," admits Shikha.

DN Nagar resident Rafiq Ahmed, who witnessed some adventurous opportunists scaling the billboard, says, "We saw a bag full of money hanging from the hoarding. We thought that it was fake, but when some people tried climbing the poles of the hoarding to get the money, we realised that it was real." Passer-by Sahil Patel stopped his car to get a better glimpse of the hoarding. "There was lots of excitement on the ground as people were looking up at the cash hanging there. I wish I knew how to climb," he says. In the Tighmanshu Dhuliadirected film, Irrfan Khan takes on the role of the real-life dacoit.
