New Delhi: Nupur Talwar, mother of Aarushi Talwar who was killed in 2008 at Noida, has moved the Supreme Court with a plea to review its decision of declining to quash the case against the dentist couple. She wanted the court to hear the review petition in the open court.
The Supreme Court will now hear the review petition in the open court. Normally, review petitions are decided by the judges in their chambers, and not in the open court.
On January 6 this year, the court rejected the Talwars' plea to close the case against them and directed them to stand trial before Ghaziabad special CBI court.
The trial court refused to accept the closure report filed by the CBI in December 2010, and took cognizance of the case.
Now, Mrs Talwar in her review petition wants the Supreme Court to review its January 6 decision and direct CBI for further scientific probe.
In her review petition, Nupur says that the DNA evidence of Hemraj was found in Krishna's house in the bedsheet seized by the police and later given to the CBI. By this, Talwars claim that Krishna came in contact with Hemraj before the murders. The petition also states that the clothes the Talwars wore on the night of Aarushi's murder, only had her DNA and not Hemraj's. Stating that none of these findings of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) were considered by any court, Talwars have once again pleaded for DNA mapping.

Mumbai, March. 6 -- As Bollywood's new oomph queen, Vidya Balan, completes her first ever item song, 'Mala Jau De...', an authentic lavani number in Ferrari Ki Sawaari, she is preparing to be scrutinised by authentic lavani dancers.
Vidya, who dons a traditional Maharashtrian attire for the number, spent over three weeks rehearsing for it with a troupe from Kolhapur. But the makers still want to get firsthand reactions from actual lavani dancers.
"Everyone including Vidhu Vinod Chopra (producer) and Rajesh Mapuskar (director) think the song is filmed to perfection. But Vidya and Rajesh want to hold the first screening of the song for authentic dancers to gauge their reactions," says an insider. The makers have taken a collective decision to showcase it to a bunch of lavani dancers. "If we get the right feedback and the dancers suggest some changes, we will readily make them," adds the insider.
Mapuskar confirmed the development saying, "Yes, we want the song to look absolutely traditional. We are in talks with a some lavani dancers from regarding the first screening."
Apparently, authentic folk dancers have choreographed a major part of the song. Vidya has taken a personal interest in the way she looks, and has also focused on the dance steps. Recently Katrina Kaif also performed a lavani number, Chikni Chameli, in Agneepath, to much criticism.
Islamabad: Pakistani authorities have sent a formal request to Interpol to issue a Red Corner Notice for former military ruler Pervez Musharraf, currently living outside the country in self-exile.
The move was taken so that he can be arrested and brought back to the country to face trial in connection with the assassination of Benazir Bhutto.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) yesterday sent the request to the Director of Interpol in Pakistan, official sources said today.
FIA Special Prosecutor Mohammad Azhar Chaudhry confirmed to the media that the process to bring Mr Musharraf back to Pakistan had begun.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik last week announced that the government would bring Mr Musharraf back to face trial for his alleged failure to provide security to former premier Benazir Bhutto at the time of her assassination in 2007 despite being aware of threats to her life.
Mr Musharraf has been declared a "proclaimed offender" or fugitive by an anti-terrorism court conducting the trial of seven persons accused of involvement in the assassination. The court also directed authorities to seize Mr Musharraf's assets and to freeze his bank accounts.
Special Prosecutor Chaudhry said an officer of the FIA's joint investigation team probing the assassination had handed over an application for the Red Corner Notice to Interpol's representative in Pakistan.
After scrutinising the application, the Interpol representative will forward it to Interpol headquarters in France, he said.
Once the Red Corner Notice is issued, Mr Musharraf can be detained anywhere in the world and brought back to Pakistan so that he can be produced in court, official sources said.
Mr Musharraf has been living in London and Dubai since he left Pakistan in early 2009 after several criminal and civil cases were filed against him across the country.
Meanwhile, a media report today said the British government may not extradite Mr Musharraf even if Pakistan obtains a Red Corner Notice against him as the two countries do not have an extradition treaty.
The News daily, quoting a senior unnamed British diplomatic source said that not only Mr Musharraf but a number of people from various countries living in Britain are wanted by their governments on different counts.
As long as they obey the law in Britain, they are not deported, the source claimed.
Mr Musharraf has not sought asylum in Britain but is staying as a guest who respects "British laws faithfully", the daily quoted its sources as saying.
"We have no problem with his staying in the United Kingdom," a source said.
Mr Musharraf recently put off his plans to return to Pakistan in March after the government warned that he would be arrested on arrival.
The former dictator had planned to return to the country to lead his All Pakistan Muslim League party in the next general election.
He has denied allegations that he was in any way involved in Bhutto's assassination and said he is willing to face Pakistani courts.
