Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan, who returned to Mumbai last night after shooting for his yet untitled movie with Yash Raj Films in London, will be visiting Ra.One animator Charu Khandal in hospital later today.
SRK has wished Charu Khandal a speedy recovery.
"It's very unfortunate. I've been in touch with the office. I'll look into it. I'll pray allah makes her fine soon. Inshallah," he said.
Doctors said that the 28-year-old, who recently won a National Award for Ra.One, is still critical. Charu is not in coma, but has been put on ventilator as she is unable to breathe on her own.
Doctors have been unable to operate on her since her spine is swollen.
Charu was returning home in the wee hours of Sunday, when a drunk driver rammed his Honda City into the autorickshaw she was travelling in.
Charu's friend Vikrant Goel, who was also with her, has been operated on and while his condition is critical, doctors are optimistic about his recovery. Meanwhile, Charu's family and friends have begun a Facebook campaign to garner support for her after the accused - Manoj Netrapal - walked out on bail of a mere five thousand rupees . Manoj's neighbours say he hasn't returned home since he was released on Sunday.

Mumbai: Actor Shah Rukh Khan today visited award-winning animator Charu Khandal who is battling for her life in a Mumbai hospital after meeting with a horrific accident on Sunday. Ms Khandal had worked on the special effects for Shah Rukh's last release, Ra.One, that fetched her the National Award.
28-year-old Khandal, who works as an animator in a production house, suffered serious injuries to her spine after the auto rickshaw she was traveling in was hit by a speeding Honda City on the wee hours of Sunday. She was returning home after having dinner at Juhu with her sister Ritu Khandal, and friend Vikrant Goel, when the mishap occurred at an intersection in Oshiwara. Ms Khandal's sister escaped with minor injuries. Mr Goel, who was also injured, is under observation at the hospital.
Ms Khandal's condition is stated to be critical. Doctors have been unable to operate on her since her spine is swollen.
Meanwhile, the police have booked the driver of the car Manoj Kumar Gautam, a Lokhandwala resident, for rash driving and driving in a drunken state under Section 304A and 304-II of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). But the Holiday Court granted him bail on Sunday.
Angered over Mr Gautam's bail, family members and friends of Ms Khandal have begun a campaign on Facebook.
Ms Khandal was due to be engaged next month. Her sister is a sales manager in a four-star hotel while Mr Goel is a manager in a five-star hotel in the city.

New Delhi: Senior union minister Sharad Pawar fainted this morning in the Lok Sabha. Mr Pawar, who is the country's Agriculture Minister, was admitted to the Dr Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) hospital and was later discharged in the evening.
Mr Pawar underwent several medical tests at the hospital following which doctors advised him rest. "It is a protocol in a government hospital, they do not want to take a chance so they asked him to take some rest. There is nothing serious," PTI quoted an aide of Mr Pawar saying .
Mr Pawar refused to go in an ambulance and opted for a check-up in his own car, news agency ANI reported. Mr Pawar was accompanied by his daughter and Baramati MP Supriya Sule and Union Minister Praful Patel. Mr Patel later said Mr Pawar's blood-sugar level dropped and he felt dizzy.
Mr Pawar had answered a number of supplementaries on questions related to agriculture during the Question Hour in the Lok Sabha. The 71-year-old leader was in the Lok Sabha lobby when he felt a bit uneasy.He had returned to the capital from Mumbai late last night.
His Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is a member of the UPA coalition at the centre. Mr Pawar will not be attending the swearing-in ceremony later this week of Parkash Singh Badal as the chief minister of Punjab.
The Congress, which is the fulcrum of the UPA, had said that allies are expected not to cross the lakshman rekha by keeping company with political rivals. That statement was made after Mamata Banerjee's party, the Trinamool Congress, said she had accepted invites to the oath-taking ceremonies for both Mr Badal and the new chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav.
After the Congress made its displeasure cleat, Ms Banerjee's party said she would stay in Bengal to attend the assembly session there, and depute representatives to Punjab and Lucknow.

Caracas: A man robbed a surgeon and his staff at gunpoint during a procedure being performed in the operating theater of a hospital in the central Venezuelan city of Maracay, making off with watches, cell phones and money, an official said.
The robber, pretending to be a patient broke into the operating theatre on Thursday at Red Cross headquarters in Aragua, the head of the institution in that state, Juan Mario Gualano, told EFE.
"He (the robber) suddenly took out a gun, burst into the operating room and demanded the submission of the medical staff doing surgery on a patient," Mr Gualano said, describing the incident as "a really crazy thing".
The assailant grabbed cell phones, watches and cash from the operating theatre staff, who never interrupted the surgery.
"The patient is in stable condition, but imagine the crisis it put our medical personnel in, having to continue operating while being assaulted," the official said.
Mr Gualano added that, according to patients' accounts, the individual talked on the phone with another person just before pulling out his gun, with which he also threatened patients in the ward and their relatives in the waiting room.
He said the assailant got away on a motorcycle and regretted that this was the second such incident here, after the one last year when his own son was hit with four bullets during an assault.
"Crime is out of control," Mr Gualano said.

Mumbai: The digital subtraction angiography (DSA) catheterisation laboratory machine, commonly called the cath lab machine, is a sophisticated piece of equipment worth Rs 6.5 crore. It can perform angioplasty and angiography procedures, and is a specimen of how much medical science has advanced.
At Jagjivan Ram hospital in Mumbai Central, this high-tech scientific innovation -- reportedly the first such machine in the western region and the second in the country -- has been allowed to become rat food.
Lying at the facility since July 2011, the machine, which hasn't been used even once, has fallen prey to rodents that have nibbled its wiring, hospital sources said. Staffers have completed the fitting of the machine, but civil work required to set it up is still pending. According to reliable sources, a few internal modifications are yet to be done, after which it could be easily installed.
But the disuse has the machine caked with dust. It was recently that the staffers noticed that the wires had been snacked on. "The civil work started in January 2011, and according to the tender, was to be completed by April, but is still going on. It is deplorable. We recently saw that wires of the machine have been nibbled off. We have asked the manufacturing company to replace them immediately to save the machine from further damage," said a hospital official, requesting anonymity.
Patients suffer The hospital doctors have been using a mini cath lab equipment to perform angiography procedures for organs other than heart. For heart angiographies, thousands of railway employees have been put on a waiting list for treatment at private hospitals.
"For performing heart angiography procedures, we refer patients to private hospitals affiliated to the railway board. Once this machine is installed, all these procedures can be easily done here. The railway board sanctioned the DSA cath lab in 2006, and we received the machine in July 2011. Had the civil work been done on time, the railways would not have had to spend lakhs treating their employees at private hospitals," said a doctor, requesting anonymity.
The hospital performs over 250-300 procedures using the mini cath lab machine. Once the machine is installed, the number will be doubled. Over 3 lakh employees of Western and Central Railway and their dependents will be benefited by this facility. "The entire load of heart angiographies goes to private hospitals and the employees have to wait for more days to get the angiography performed," said a railway employee.
The other side Sharat Chandrayan, chief PRO, Western Railway, said, "The project is going on and will be completed soon. The machine is completely fine. It is nothing like what you are saying." Dr Gita Chaturvedi, medical director, Jagjivan Ram hospital, did not respond to MiD DAY's calls and messages.
