There will be a Housefull 3: Sajid Khan

By Hindustan Times

Director Sajid Khan has no qualms admitting that he takes actors Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh for granted. So much so, that when the filmmaker finished scripting the soon-to-be-released film Housefull 2, he gave the entire cast a formal narration, but didn’t include the two actors in the
sitting.

“Akshay had a vague idea of his character. But Riteish was completely clueless. I remember him asking me what his role was, and I looked back at him and said, ‘Don’t you trust me?’ We even had a small fight and then Riteish said he didn’t want to hear the story. For at least half the shoot, he did not read the script or know what the story of the film was. Until we shot the climax, that is,” says Sajid, who in the past has directed the two actors in Heyy Babyy (2007) and Housefull (2010).

There seem to be a lot of similarities between the first film and the sequel. The Housefull 2 song Right Now Now… has been shot a lot like the original’s Papa Jag Jayega… Not only is the location and setting similar, but the actors are also dressed in their nightclothes in both the videos. “I realised what worked, and that’s why I’ve kept these similarities. I’ve even used animals in this one like in the previous film. But it will have a completely different climax as people didn’t seem to understand the original’s climax,” he says.

Meanwhile, even though his next film is a few weeks away from release, the director has already considered a Housefull 3. “Yes there will be a Housefull 3. But I will not make it without Sajid Nadiadwala producing it and Akshay and Riteish acting in it,” says Sajid, who along with Riteish, Asin, Jacqueline Fernandez and Shazahn Padamsee made a brief appearance at the HT Mint Luxury Conference in the city on Friday.

Sajid is not my mentor: Jacqueline Fernandez

By Hindustan Times

She is only three films old in Bollywood. But actress Jacqueline Fernandez is flooded with offers from big production houses and her career moves are rumoured to be taken by actor-filmmaker Sajid Khan.

However, the model-turned-young actress denies it all, saying she takes her own decisions and no one is playing mentor to her.

When Jacqueline started shooting for her yet-be-released film, Housefull 2, helmed by Sajid, sparks flew and soon there were reports that they are dating and would get married this year. Most industry folks feel that Sajid keeps a watch on the films she signs.

"No.. he (Sajid) is not my mentor, I don't actually have one. I don't have any mentor. I am very professional person, I have never had any mentor. And no he never does tell me what films to do and what not. I think for me it is important that I make my own decisions," Jacqueline told PTI in an interview.

"As I am not from the industry..I am an outsider, so it is easy for me to make mistakes as I don't know how things work in the industry, how people function. It is important to make your own mistakes and learn from them and not based on someone else advice to know what you are doing is right," she said.

The 26-year-old made her debut in tinsel town with Aladin (2010) opposite Riteish Deshmukh. In her next film Jaane Kahaan Se Aayi Hai she was again paired opposite Riteish but both these films did no magic at the box office. This was followed by a cameo in Housefull and a full-fledged role in Murder 2.

More than her professional life, she was talked more about for her rumoured relation with Sajid which she thinks is unfair.

I'm arguably Mithun-da's biggest fan: Sajid Khan

By Hindustan Times

Sajid Khan, who has brought together three veteran actors - Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty in Housefull 2, says his personal favourite is Mithun-da whom he has idolised ever since he was a kid. "Dada is my number one star since I was born. I have never ever
hero-worshipped anyone more than Dada. Arguably, I am Mithun-da's biggest fan. I used to do his mimicry, I used to talk like him, I have seen every film of Dada," the 40-year-old said here in an interview.

"The only person in this entire film and in my all three films, whose first shot I took and touched his feet, that is my Dada. I love Dada so much," he added.Meanwhile, Sajid says the public sees him as a brand. That's why after delivering a hit like "Housefull", he feels a slight pressure of not disappointing his audience.

"There is always pressure. If you make a flop film then you are under pressure to make a hit film. If you make a hit film then you are under pressure to surpass your own standard or at least deliver another hit because the audience also has expectations.

"You know that Sajid Khan is a brand name and that you will get a family entertainer from him. I will never change that. The only pressure on me is that I should never disappoint my audience," he added.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film also features Boman Irani, Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, John Abraham, Shreyas Talpade, Asin, Jacqueline Fernandez, Zarine Khan and Shazahn Padamsee. It hits theatres April 5.
