Govinda on Movers & Shakers first episode

Shekhar Suman wanted Anna Hazare on the inaugural episode of the new season of Movers & Shakers. But since the social activist has a busy schedule, movie star Govinda will be the first guest on the chat show. The comic actor showcases a different side to his personality on the show.
He shares experiences of his political journey, clarifies rumours surrounding his superstitions, pays tribute to his mother and even dedicates a bhajan to her, said a source from the sets.

Govinda was happy about being on Movers & Shakers, which was a rage when it first came on TV in 1997 on Sony.

"Shekhar is the USP of this show. I have always admired his sense of humour. His sense of timing and delivery with comedy is amazing and I am glad that he is back to doing Movers & Shakers dobara," the actor said in a press statement.

Shekhar is equally thrilled, and went down memory lane while shooting the episode.

He said: "It is fantastic to have Govinda as the guest on the first episode. It felt great to reminiscence about the old days.

"While we were shooting it brought back a flood of old memories when he came on the show in the first season. Despite having spent 25 years in the industry, he hasn't changed one bit. He still is the same humble guy whom I first met way back in 1985."

Coincidentally, Govinda and Shekhar have quite a bit in common. They both started their career in the film industry in 1985, both of them tried their hand at politics, and both tried singing as a career.

The show will go on air on Sab TV Monday.

Vidya Balan on winning first National Award!

Actress Vidya Balan, who was declared the best actress for playing a sex symbol in The Dirty Picture at the 59th National Awards on Wednesday, said she is still trying to believe that she has won the prestigious trophy.

"I want to believe it..long cherished dream has come true.... my first...I don't know what to say....I want to thank director Milan Luthira for giving me this film. This is really unbelievable...It is the biggest honour of the ocuntry...it is very speical...every award is special," Vidya, 33, told CNN-IBN after winning the award.

Produced by Ekta Kapoor, the unofficial biopic of the southern sex siren Silk Smitha not only rocked the box office and set the cash registers ringing, it also won the maximum popular awards.

"As the role is concerned, it really required mentally to be totally uninhibited...the film's success has opened a lot of opportunities especially the kind of roles for the female actors. It is very nice to see that the line between so called meaningful cinema and commercial has blurred," said the actor.

'Salman's still my first choice!'

Mumbai, March. 6 -- Salman Khan was expected to produce he Hindi remake of Mahesh Manjrekar's acclaimed Marathi film Shikshanachya Aicha Gho (2010) under his banner Salman Khan Being Human.

Now, rumour has it that actor-producer Akshay Kumar has stepped in, and replaced the Bodyguard star as the film's producer at the original film's director-producer's behest. "I don't know where such 'news' comes from," retorts Mahesh. "Salman is my first choice to remake the film. I know he's really busy presently but I won't approach anyone else till he turns the project down. Salman was excited about the film but he is yet to revert to me. I'll wait for him to get free so we can speak at length."

Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho highlights loopholes in the education system in India. Last week, reports made the rounds that Mahesh had approached Akshay to remake the Hindi version since Salman has backto-back acting assignments Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg 2 and Kick.

In the meantime, South baddie Prakash Raj released the Telugu version of the film, Dhoni. Mahesh, who teamed up with Salman in Wanted (2009), Dabangg (2010) and Ready (2011), says that a recent incident involving a 15-year-old student who fatally stabbed his teacher in Chennai has forced him to speed up the Marathi film's Hindi remake.

"A lot of questions have been raised about the kind of pressure a child goes through in school that provokes him to stab his teacher," says Mahesh. "The Hindi remake will touch on such issues. But I don't want to set a deadline that will mess up the content."
